Christmas Vacation ECT....

Well the kids go back to school on the 4th and I have to say it is bitter sweet. I don't really want it to end. We had a nice Christmas done our way ( i.e tree and decorations came down right away, had our none traditional dinner). Couldn't wait for it to come and now that it's over I am demanding that mother nature bring back the desert heat I am so accustomed to now :) I am done with the cold.

Spring Semester starts in a couple of weeks...looking forward to it but even more so I am looking forward to Summer Vacation ( 4 months without school work will be so nice).
We plan getting to the beach a lot more this Summer, going on a few camping trips and so much more so I am hoping the next 4 months fly by.

Sorry that I don't have any new pictures to post our camera broke again so we will be replacing in next month....I will post new pictures as soon as I have some.

Catherine is doing well she and I are kept busy with school, life and Girl Scouts ( I am one of the leaders in the troop) which has consumed much of our free time don't think we will be doing Girl Scouts next school year.

Nathan is a sweet as ever not much new to report about him.

Anthony had a pretty traumatic experience at school involving a disturbed child so school has been a struggle ever since.....he is afraid to go back so it's been tough.

Nicolas is well.....still the baby haha he is getting huge, he is going to be a big guy he weighs as much as his Anthony ( hes no fat just built like a football player) and he has a cocky attitude to boot *smile*

As for Terry and I we are about to hit our 10 year mark...time sure has gone by fast. We are both very busy with school, kids, work, promotion exam ect.

Hoping the New Year brings nothing but wonderful things for our family and yours!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Summer 2009

Well, this Summer has come to an end. The 3 older kids will be back in school Monday morning and it'll just be Nicolas and Mommy. Which I am sure Nicolas will love :)
I am very happy to see this horrible Summer end. While most were out having fun and playing the kids on Edwards AFB were mainly stuck indoors due to horribly heat we have been having for the past couple of months. There hasn't been a day that's been under 103 degrees, combine that with the dry air and the fact that we live on a dry lake bed that reflects the sun....it's been just nasty.

My Summer has been filled with stress, stress and more stress. Stress with getting my school paperwork taken care of ( mainly the financial aid department....there is one very incompetent person working in there that really drove me nutts for a while) Stress with my mother which out of respect for my family I have not gotten into with anyone but I will say that I haven't spoken to her in months ( that's a lie I did speak to her once to find out what was going one with my Grandfather) but other then that I haven't spoken to her since April. It's been very hard not speaking to my own mother but I know it is the best thing for my family. But as always I do wish her all the best. Okay enough of that.

Back to the family! Terry is doing well, this month he has been the military escort for a millionaire ( and his British team....who my husband and the other military escort taunt all day long over cultural difference...it's all in good fun as they all agree) They have spent the last 10 years building a steam powered race car ( as my husband says "this thing looks like it could go over 400 mph" but it can't read on lol) anyway they have traveled all the way to America to break a steam car top speed that was set in 1905 or around there sometime not sure exactly when) They are using the lake bed here on base because it is one of only a hand full of places in the world that is straight, flat and long enough to race this car on. Oh did I mention the record speed set over 103 years ago was 124 mph :) these guys will beat that but unbelievably not by much....the record officials will be out here all of next week so hopefully the team can pull it off while he is here....Good luck boys!! Terry has had fun working with all of them.

I am doing well just trying to get things back in order for the school year to begin. Getting ready for the holidays which are fast approaching. Oh I started belly dancing which I love love love Great workout!

The kids are great...they have spent the whole summer in water and dirt HAHA. We have gone hiking at the Devils Punch Bowl a couple of times, discovered a few small towns to explore down here ( we try to avoid the cities here if at possible) they are very quiet, small farm towns with loads of fresh fruit stands and little shops...a discovery we all plan to enjoy for the rest of our time down here. We have planned several camping trips this summer but due to the INSANE wind here we have yet to go through with any of our camping plans ( all of our camping gear is still brand new and in the packages all thanks to the WIND). The kids are all very excited about going back to school....Anthony does get nervous every once in a while but myself and his older sister and brother reassure him that school is fun and he will like it.

Here are few pics from our last hiking trip...

What a week!!

Sheesh am I glad things are getting back to normal around here. As I mentioned in my previous post Nathan has been sick. He has had horrible abdominal pain, fatigued, nausea, pale as a ghost and finally vomiting. We took him to his ped. after about 4 days of on again off again abdominal pain and not being very responsive to me ( the boy would just sit and look right through you when you would speak to him.....scared the he** out of me), anyway back to the ped. visit after a few cracks about swine flu and visiting Mexico, testing for a appendicitis problem, infection of any sort, and other things.....we got the answer we have come to expect from peds on base...he simply and honestly said " he has a case of the I don't know's". Anywho we did find out that from all this discomfort he had dehydrated himself ( which he does often) so we had to take care of that. After about 6 days he started coming around and moving about like his old self and then BOOM Anthony, Nicolas and Cat get sick, almost simultaneously, It was horrific YUCK YUCK....I have been disinfecting my house for the last 36 hours!! As of today all our babies are filling 100% better and life is back to normal.

Little school update I took the essay placement test ( the one I have been avoiding the most) the other night. ..I had a choice of two topics to write about I chose one about children and marriage....I had an hour to complete it lol for the first 35 mins I just sat at the computer staring at the screen wondering what I was going to say..finally it came to me and I was able to finish with loads of time to spare :) So hopefully I will have done well ( I wont hear anything for 2 weeks)...now I just have to go take the supervised math and english test ).

Hmmm

Well lets see, an update hmmmm!!!

I guess i'll start with me....I am in the middle of of registering for school ( just need to take my placement test...which I am to chicken to do but I am sure I will get up the nerve to do it soon lol...and I am waiting on paper work from FSA stating that I don't owe them any money ( 4 years and they still haven't updated there system..go figure) and once the financial aid stuff is all taken care of I will just be waiting to start on Aug 24th Wooohoooo! I can't wait! Terry will also be heading back to school in the Fall...so that should be fun....it'll be like high school...he'll do my biology and I do his Math ,English and physiology lol just joking!

This kids are out of school in just 16 days....I can't wait!! Cat is so excited about second grade, we just bought her new messenger bag for school next year ( I am having it made and it should be here soon....she is so excited). Nate is loving school and has come so far in such a short amount of time...it is still up in the air if he will be going into 1st or doing one more year of Kindergarten just to make sure he is mature enough. But either way he can't wait until next school year. Anthony is doing awesome in speech class and will be starting Kindergarten in the Fall as well ( although I think he might be our biggest handful yet...he is quite stubborn...and only will do something when he is good and ready to do it....he also loves to pull pranks on people so I think we may be getting lots of color cards in his folder ( color cards are how they discipline children at the school) lol. AS for Nicolas I am sure he is going to love having mommy all to himself for the next 2 years. I think we might end up putting him in speech class as well.....he seems to be following in his big brothers footsteps and doesn't seem to like to us "c" "g" or "d" and "s's" while speaking.

We bought camping gear a few weeks back and are so excited about our planned camping trip at a near by naval station this summer. We have attempted several back yard camping adventures but the wind has had other plans for us ( maybe we will get the chance soon).

Okay well Nate is sick and asleep and Nick and Anthony are fighting so I better go!

Love you all.......esp. you Grandpa I knew you
would be just fine!!!

Wildflowers

Life :)

So life has been great since quitting child care! Everything is so stress free now......I love just hanging out with my babies...going where we want to go, whenever we want to go, being able to clean my house and let my kids play in their OWN rooms whenever they want, have friends over, let my dogs come and go as the please.

I will start school in Aug. I was suppose to start this Spring but by the time all my paper work was in all the classes I needed were filled so for now I will just hang out with my kids and enjoy them.

We are going home on the 9th for a week or two for Easter ( another perk of not doing childcare...can't really do the vacation thing while being a provider). I can't wait...it's been a year.

The kids are great, we are great...Terry just tested for Tech on Wed. so we are hoping he made it ( it's his fist try...on average it takes about 3 tries to pass...so we are hoping he is above average lol)we will find out in July. We have been loving the 70-80 degree weather here.......back to all our outdoor activities we love so much ( hiking, biking, just exploring, working on my tan lol)

Anyway I need to get the kids dressed for yet another loooonnnnnngggggg trip into town ( getting plants for our yard).

The picture is of our walk wed. all the wild flowers are in bloom here.....in a few weeks it will all be dead again and there wont be a single green thing to be found in the desert :)

Love ya'll

So, a couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of hanging out with just my little guys during the day ( daycare child was home for a few days and the older two were at school) and while it was so amazing seeing how independent they have become and just how well they get along I couldn't help but ask myself " what the hell am I going to do with myself during the day now?"

I am not kidding at all when I tell you that I had absolutely no idea what to do with myself. Anthony and Nicolas spent all day just playing and getting along great while I walked through the house over and over again trying to find something to do. My friends joke and tell me that I am going to take this time before school starts and just relax for the first time in 7 yrs but I honestly think I am going to go nutts :) I am not the kind of person that can just sit or watch t.v.......I must have something to do or else I fell lazy and useless.

This is sure to be a big change for me! 9 Days and counting!!

Big Changes are in the Works

So after much discussion we have decided that I will no longer be doing in home childcare. The stress in unbearable, my kids feel like I am not spending enough time with them (which they are right), I have turned into one stressed out mommy and wife...that is not what I wanted to happen when I started this. So sometime in mid Feb I will becoming a stay at home mommy and wife again :) and shortly after that full time student will be added to that list...yep that's right I am finally going back to school to finish what I started before Nicolas came along.

I am nervous, sad, anxious and excited all in one lol. I can tell you that I am so looking forward to my first morning of being able to just hang out with my kids and slowly get them ready for school....no more of this rush rush rush.....no you can't eat what you want cause it's not on the menu....no you know you can't go into your own room during daycare hours or the back yard. We believe that this is the best thing for our family.....which after all is the most important thing.
